Originally North Shore Martial Arts Academy, North Shore Dojo was founded by Sensei Jeff Kohn and is currently in its 5th location in Glenview, Illinois. North Shore Dojo has progressively grown through the change of locations beginning in Morton Grove, Northfield, Highland Park and finally into its most impressive location in Glenview.

North Shore Dojo teaches Shotokan karate and emphasizes its motto that "Winners find ways, losers find excuses. Prepare like a winner" as well as the importance of education and the development of lifelong skills. Students are taught to master an action and how to give over one hundred percent. Through North Shore Dojo, Sensei Kohn has produced over 200 black belts and numerous world class athletes. North Shore Dojo creates an atmosphere of support and motivation regardless of physical and emotional challenges, where the ultimate goal is to learn how to succeed. North Shore Dojo is unique in its teaching strategies where positive feedback is given by teachers, and the word "can't" is never allowed.
